Eileen Bell, CEO Famous 5 Foundation
It is with great pleasure that we extend a warm welcome to Eileen Bell who is taking over reign as the new CEO of our Foundation.
Eileen worked in the Health Care Sector for over 35 years and has spent the last 4 years in various executive positions within the Domestic Violence Shelter Sector. She has extensive experience working with Boards and Volunteers. Her skills developing and implementing strategic plans, working with donors, along with her experience as a relationship builder will be a great asset to our Foundation. Eileen’s appreciation for authentic honest relationships along with dependable, positive, and respectful qualities make Eileen an excellent ambassador for our Foundation.
We sat down with Eileen over coffee last week and asked what excited her about being part of our Foundation. “When I read about the Famous Five and the women’s work in terms of their persistence and determination and intelligence to work through the system and challenge the definition of Persons, or rights of women to hold office or own property - their work in that context, in that time, at a risk to themselves and others - it just was such an appealing legacy and history to become part of”.
Eileen and her husband both grew up in Charlottetown, PEI and attended Dalhousie University. They moved west in the early 80s and now enjoy traveling, having visited both Hawaii and Hong Kong within the past year! Eileen is also an avid practicer of yoga and lifelong fan of fitness.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Executive Director Donna Leonard Robb for her 14+ years of service to the Famous 5 Foundation. She has been the smiling face and heart of the Foundation for so long and we wish her all the best in her much-deserved retirement!
